St. Paul Youth (Grades 7-12)
We went to Dollar General and loaded up on goods for families in need... This is what the love of Jesus looks like!
St. Paul’s Youth Group is called S.P.Y.
Pre-COVID, our youth were always encouraged to invite friends to come to events and were able to have youth from other churches or the community join our group. In a “normal” year we have monthly supper meetings where we eat together, have a topic or speaker, and have fun activities for fellowship. We also either volunteer or have an activity once a month. We do things like go out for pizza, snow tubing, bowling, etc. We volunteer a lot! Every year, we make and host the Easter breakfast for our church and help with the Easter Sunrise Service. Each year we have had events along with our 30 Hour Famine, like a Chili Cook-Off or Kiss the Cow Event, to help raise money for World Vision to feed hungry kids. We’ve helped at the Ronald McDonald House, helped with our church suppers, picked up trash in our section of the Adopt-a-Hwy., and bagged meals for Feed My Starving Children. To raise money for mission trips and retreats, we make a meal each month for our congregation and host a rummage sale. Every other summer our 9th-12th graders go on a mission trip. Some of the trips have been to volunteer at Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp in Montana; Sky Ranch in Fort Collins, Colorado; Heifer Ranch in Perryville, Arkansas; The Isaiah Connection in Craig, Alaska; City Service Mission in Chicago, Illinois; and an Urban Immersion in Minneapolis, Minnesota. On the odd years we attend a Quake, which is a youth retreat, put on by Life Promotions. We stay in a hotel usually in the Wisconsin Dells where we hear national speakers, Christian bands, attend workshops, and go to the waterpark.

Sunday School (Ages 4 -12)
Every Sunday morning when we gather for church worship, we also gather in the sanctuary for Sunday School. As a congregation, we get to hear the Sunday School Bible lesson together - and then our littles and their teachers head to the classroom while we get to continue with adult scriptures, and a sermon. Then, before the end of worship, our littles rejoin us to tell us a little about what they have learned, and for everyone to receive a blessing! Most recently we have been learning about Jesus teachings to "Love your Enemies," "The Lord's Prayer," and to "Not Worry."
We also held a "No Rehearsal Christmas Program this past year - which was Amazing!!

We made birthday bags as a part of our food drive so that other children can celebrate their birth, too!
Confirmation (Grades 7 & 8)
Growing in faith is super important for us at St. Paul's, and one of the ways that we do that is through our confirmation program. It's two years where we get to learn about the Old and New Testaments, the Life of Jesus, and the ministry and mission of the church! It's a lot of ground to cover but also a joy to walk through with our youth! At the end of the two years, our youth get to "confirm" the promises of baptism and to affirm the work that God is doing through them!
